Wife of President Buhari, Aisha, is off to Belgium to give the opening speech in a forum. She will be speaking on “Women’s Role in Global Security”.
Mrs Buhari announced her departure on twitter, where she posted to followers from her account.

The post is coming just as her husband’s controversial comment about Aisha’s place in his house was fizzling from media attention.
The president had, while responding to questions that sought his views on the public criticism of his administration by his wife, said Aisha’s place was in the kitchen, the living room and the other room (which many read as their bedroom). The president was speaking beside the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, who ironically is woman, during a state visit to Germany. Both leaders were having a joint press conference when the question to which Buhari responded was thrown by a journalist.
The comment has attracted wide criticisms from champions of women rights who frowned at the idea of a powerful figure sending out a message to millions of people around the world that the role of women in these times ends just in the kitchen and bedroom.
