The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Ejembi Eko from Benue representing North Central and Amina Augie as Justices of Nigeria’s Supreme Court.
Tuesday’s confirmation followed the consideration of a report submitted by the Senate committee on Judiciary, Human Right and Legal matters.
The Senate also employed electronic voting in the process of the confirmation of the two justices. The result of the electronic voting showed that out of 39 Senators who registered for exercise, 38 senators voted for the confirmation of two Judges.
In his comment the Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu who presided over the sitting congratulated the justices and urged them to be just and truthful in the course of doing their work.
