While champagne is usually the most popular way to toast a newly married couple, Dunkin’ Donuts has come up with its own viewing party snack in the form of a heart-shaped donut ahead of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s May 19 nuptials.
And although Meghan and Harry’s wedding menu will feature a lemon elderflower cake, Dunkin’ has decided to go down a different flavor route with its creation named The Royal Love Donut.
Filled with jelly and topped with chocolate icing, the limited edition sweet treat will be available from May 14 to May 20 at participating Dunkin’ Donut stores across the US.

‘We love helping our guests make special occasions, both big and small, even sweeter with fun donut designs and flavors,’ Dunkin Brands CEO Nigel Travis (a dual US and British citizen born and raised in Woodford, Essex) said in a statement.
‘The Royal Wedding represents optimism, happiness and joy,’ he added.
The coffee chain is also celebrating the idea of an American princess on home soil ahead of Meghan and Harry’s big day and on May 14 a special horse-drawn carriage branded in Dunkin’s iconic pink and orange colors will offer select guests a chance to enjoy the Royal Love Donuts while taking a trip through Central Park.
Real Housewives of New York star and Carole Radziwill whose late husband Anthony was part of the Polish royal family, will kick off proceedings and take the first ride through the park.

Dunkin’ Donuts is no stranger to making doughnuts with the royal family in mind – The company also made a Royal Wedding Donut for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in April 2011 ahead of their wedding.
Dunkin’ described the treat as ‘a heart-shaped donut filled with jelly and topped with vanilla icing and a chocolate drizzle’ and also stated in its press release that the ‘heart signifies the love bwtween Prince William and Catherine, and the donut is filled with jelly to represent how their lives are to be ever-filled with happiness’
It also detailed that the white frosting signified ‘the traditional white wedding gown’ and the chocolate drizzle was dedicated to ‘William’s love for chocolate’, however the coffee chain hasn’t explained its decision to make Megan and Harry’s donut chocolate with pink accents in quite so much detail.
